JOANNA RAMIREZ

VOCALIST, SONGWRITER, PERCUSSIONIST

Joanna Ramirez has been influenced by some of the greatest r&b, blues, and soul acts of the 20th century, including Stevie Wonder, Sade, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and The Jacksons.  Her contemporaries and near-contemporaries are deeply grounded musicians such as Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, The Roots, and Mary J. Blige. Joanna’s influences inspire her to write songs with a distinctly old school, good-time party vibe but made fresh and unique by her individual spiritual journey.  Listen to her songs the first time for the fantastic voice and great groove; listen again & again because she speaks to this contemporary moment in a timeless way.
